Biography

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born July 30, 1947 in Graz Austria. He grew up in less than ideal conditions, having an alcoholic, Nazi-member father who beat him and favoured his other son. In an attempt to escape his reality, Schwarzenegger turned to Hollywood and movies. This obsession with Hollywood and bodybuilding fueled a desire to come to America and pursue his dream to become a bodybuilder and actor himself. He began weight training at the age of 15 and through his persistence he was able to get in contact with Joe Weider, the man behind The International Federation of Bodybuilding. With the help of Weider, Schwarzenegger won five Mr. Universe titles and six Mr. Olympia crowns. He was not only a talented bodybuilder, but also a very successful Hollywood actor, playing large roles in many critically acclaimed movies such as Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator, Total Recall and Predator. He took a liking to bodybuilder and actor Reg Parker. Schwarzenegger was also a politician, holding the position of the Governor of California for seven years, from 2003 to 2010. To this day Arnold is still a prominent face in the world of health and fitness, working with the company MusclePharm to promote and sell his line of supplements. He continues to appear in various film and television roles such as The Expendables and Two and Half Men.
